“King’s Gambit” is the story of Bryce Wheeler, a newfound “Herald” whose job in life is to control the balance of the world by manipulating events using a mystic journal. Bryce inherited the journal from his recently deceased father and comes to find that the power he has been trained for his whole life is harder to control than expected.
